Occlusion texture usage

Hi

I was wondering if there was a way to use the occlusion texture such that the effect is inverted. That is instead of the occluder geo/objects to determine placement of the point cloud, the point cloud this time is generated everywhere except where the occlusion objects are.

I used a scatterer as an ocluder where the scattered geo are houses and now want grass to grow around the houses outside a radius of each of the houses and on every other part of the terrain.

How can this be achieved?

Hi,

Just pass your occlusion through an invert node, or invert the colors in the occlusion node to control the decimate of your point cloud.

Or use a point uv sampler that will create points on the white value of the occlusion.

Hi Daaims, Thanks for the info. But I did try using the invert texture node and it didn't seem to work. Maybe I did something wrong. Could u possibly upload a project file with the correct node structure for this.

Hello Bruce, Thanks too. However my question is since I am using a scatterer to scatter the house geo how can I possibly use the uv point sampler such that the white value will be on areas outside the perimeter of each scattered geo. Like I said each generated scattered object would have grass growing outside it's immediate perimeter. Hope I am clear. Cheers.
