Distributed single frame rendering

Unread postby kai01w » Thu Nov 03, 2016 11:29 am

Does/will Clarisse support distributed rendering of a single frame (ideally interactively in the image view)?
This would be great for lighting/shading lookdev.

Hi,

There's no plan for now to do interactive distributed rendering. Unlike in traditional rendering engine, it is way more complex to do in Clarisse due to its architecture (comp + render).

However, it is possible to do it using CNode by using the undocumented argument -crop X Y W H. You then have to rebuild all the different sub images into an image.
Cheers,

You can do region renders and merge the frames back in a compositing software. Should keep the sampling seed the same on all sections.
It's a pain and I hope Distributed rendering can be implemented in the future.

Are there any capabilities in 3.0/3.5 in regards to distributed rendering. Like Vray does it?

Hi,

We talked about it several weeks ago for rebut, I made a script for that: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1397&start=30#p12537
I suggest you look at the others posts of this topic, you will find useful information.
