Unread postby bingopanshow » Wed Apr 12, 2017 3:15 am

Hi

Now I'm using UDIM on clarisse.
This is fine,

But If I want to use only one specific UV space,
How to apply texture??

like a If I have 1001 to 1006 diffuse.
and Only 1004 I want to apply alpha map,

how to handle with this issue?

I need someones help.

Thanks..

Hi,

I'm not sure to clearly understand. But I joined a scene based on this answer from Daaims :

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2978&p=12076&hilit=udim#p12076.

Hope this is what you want.

Cheers.

Thank you! It is one of good solution about my issue. I analyze about it and now I understand the workflow.

Also I wanna to ask Is it possible to chose spacific UV range and apply texture?
Like I want clarisse to ignore some UV space without apply alpha.
Now I'm trying to reduce the rendering time and I want reduce texture amount but also reduce render node as well.

If I can chose spacific UV space from texture attribute or something. It is best .

Thank you

Hi,

A direct clip UV space attribute would be easier.. I've added a feature request (#6787).
Here is the complete workaround : use a simple white texture (a 64x64 white map is ok), set to U and V repeat mode: reset. This way yyou output white pixels where there is the regular UV (0 to 1). You can place this square where you want using the UV translate attribute (1m = 1 in UV space, x = U, Y = V). (note: (The gradient UV map technique also work to produce this mask).

Then use this as an input to control a switch between a dummy black constant color and you UDIM. I've attached an example project (just replace the object and textures by yours).

Thanks!

Yann
