An old dream /// Testing the limits

Unread postby daaims » Mon Jan 02, 2017 12:32 pm

Hi there,

Is there someone here who didn't think to make a real scale zoom out of the ...

https://youtu.be/Rj0thBG4Kwo

Shadows are not evaluated at the lowest scale but wow, it just works with this insane bounding box !!!

I made the moon and sun too at real scale and it works too but not after reopening scene. Amazing !!!

Cheers and happy new year ;)

Hi Daims,

Happy new year too. ;)

Your test is very impressive !

About your problem of shadow, have you change the raytrace offset of your sphere? Which version of clarisse are you using?

Haha ! Yes i remember now !

I was setuping the scene with the earth at the center of the world and had big issue with the lower scale spheres because there were far away of the center of the world, so i tried changing attributes as raytrace offset and didn't reset the value to default...

Now, all is working perfectly, no bug !

Here the moon and the sun at real scale. Unfortunately, the sun translate attribute change after re-opening the scene... Can we speak about bug here ? As i can set 149 000 000 km in the numeric field i would say yes

And here a real scale total solar eclipse

Ok, I have reproduced the problem and created an ID (6212). Thanks for the feedback.

Wow ! An ID for this !? Santa Claus is visiting me a second time this winter
It will be possible to make the entire solar system in real scale, zooming out from a droplet <3

Cheers ;)
