Is it possible to only render a specific AOV?

Unread postby jorgetrevilla » Tue Jan 30, 2018 3:05 am

Hi!

I was wondering about the possibility of rendering a specific AOV from Clarisse while not rendering others (For example, render a matte pass without calculating or outputting the Beauty pass for efficiency)

Hope this question makes sense to some degree,

Thank you

Hi,

No, it is not possible. But you can use the layer override material attribute to quickly set a matte pass as beauty.

Cheers ;)

Hi,

In fact, yes, there is a way. Create a 3D layer with the Aov you want and in the channel tab of the layer's attribute select the one you want as output. It will replace the RGB and discard the others.

Here is a simple scene showing the setup.

Cheers.
