BLACK ZDEPTH

Unread postby bensch » Wed May 22, 2019 12:30 pm

Hi I am rendering a 360 panorama in Clarisse.
Do I need to activate anything to get the zdepth in my final multi exr rendered, because it´s displayed in the in image view but black in the final?

Thanks!

Hi,

Indeed, a visual overlay is applied to the image view when viewing some technical AOV (depth, sample_count etc ...). You can change this overlay in the upper toolbar of the widget (set to automatic by default). If you save your image you will retrieve the real values.

You can see the real values in the HUD by the way. Depth is encoded in the red channel. There is a bug when rendering with a panoramic camera, depth values are negatives. Just multiply the AOV by -1 in your comp software.
