Keep basic geometry shape and apply Displacement map with positive and negative value

Hi

Now I trying to apply complex high detail displacement map on animal surface.

But If I apply it on face, my animal eyes are hide by glow geometry.

and also my animal have big scar.

If I apply displacement map node to positive value.
This scar doesn't go in deep. Just keep same place. Other part get glow, so It looks like scar, But it is not what I want. I want scar part go into deep. My hight map scar part value is 0, I mean black, Other part is whitish.
That part is understandable.

But What I want to do is I want to make 0 value as negative and go in to deep,
and positive value go to upper. without change basic geometry.

Is it possible??

Hi,

Yes, by default the displacement is set for negative and positive float values, but if you have a 0 to 1 map, front offset is designed for this. If 0.5 is your neutral value for example, type -0.5 in the front offset attribute.

Best,

Hi Tann

Thank you to reply massage!

I figure out the ploblem,
I used Substance painter to make Hight map, and If I export it with alpha map, or use mode than 16bit tiff file,
It may cause ploblem to make hight map,

When I use 8bit tiff file eithout alpha texture.

It lookks work on clarrise.

Thank you.
