Textures with PhysicalBasedMaterial

Unread postby bingopanshow » Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:15 pm

Hi

I need to apply textures to PysicalbasedMaterials.

Now I have Diffuse,Roughness,Reflection,IOR,Normal,haight map.

And Diffuse map and normal map is Ok.
But I have no idea How to use Roughness,Reflection,IOR map to physical based material on clarisse.

I can use legasy material. In that case, It looks work fine.

But when I use pysical based, It's difficult.

I using layer material and connect diffuse material and reflection material which connected with textures.

But result looks wired. i really need to use pysical based material and rendering, but It is hard to make apporopriate result.

My work flow, I using one UDIM textures, and It include a lot of different kind of material, all are edited by texture, Usually I avoid to touch the paramater, decide the patameter by texture. so I can't pick up one geometry and edit one by one to change each material parameter.
Do someone know better node setting with IOR, glossiness, reflection map to layer material??

This is my setting for layer material on clarisse.

Hi,

First is better to directly use the normal map directly at the layered material level and if you 're using a normal texture you need to use the
''normal map" node inside the normal section of the material editor, the bump node is for black and white maps. One other strange thing is the diffuse color use as weight in the reflective. I don't know what you want to achieve but most of the time the weight is control by black and white maps.

Anyway, you can look at this post from Daaims that is a good example.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3046

or this one very simple with a layered material.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3003&p=12218&hilit=material#p12218.

Can you give us an image of what you want to achieve and the maps? I could help you better.

Cheers.
