UV changing from Maya to Clarisse

Hi,

i'm having an issue I never had before, and I lack of ideas about how to fix it. The problem is that the alembic I import in clarisse doesn't have the same UV than it had in maya. I think it's coming from Clarisse as, while I import the same abc back in Maya, its UV are good again. Here are snapchots, first from maya and then from clarisse

Does this problem seems familiar to anyone here ?

Hi,

Do you have multiple UV set on your object? If yes, try to navigate between them in the texture view with the UV set selector located in the upper menu bar.

Hey,

thanks for the reply, but it's unfortunately not the case. That was one of the only thing I thought about that could explain the problem..

What exporter are you using for the alembic generation? Regular Maya 2017/18 or exocortex crate plugin ?

Alembic does not create new UV's and Clarisse can only read data from alembic but does not generate new...

Either the model is corrupted and requires a clean UV set and unwrap or the exporter does something really funky and clarisse reads it wrong due to a bug ...

Try to break it down in a smaller piece and export it to see where this is coming from

I used one of the company tool, and then maya's exporter. I also have the same issue with Obj

Your UVs are weird...

Here you can see the 10*10 multi-tile UV grid in the center of the image. (snapshot from maya)

Just clean your UVs and it will work.

Damn, indeed !
Mesh is from internet, I didn't see the UV were so weird.
It works when the UV have been corrected.
