Light laser effect in volumes

Heya guys !

I'm currently working on a personnal project that requires me to simulate some kind of very specific effect. Here is what i'm trying to achieve :

I basically have a volume, few objects scattered in the volume.

So I've had few ideas on how to get close to this kind of result. The first one is to plug a very thin scope inside my volume shader and plug that scope in the emmision. The result is pretty cool, but i'm not able to have the laser cast any shadows on my objects (since it's not really a proper light)

I also tried a plane light, super thin but I'm having issue with light intensity and attentuation. I'm not able to tell the light propagate really far before it starts fading (it fades quickly in the volume even after tweaking the far attenuation in the parameters) unless I crank up the exposure, but obviously the result it superduper over exposed in front of the light.

I'm curious, do you guys know a cool trick to acheive that? It seems tricky to parameter the lights and get this result in clarisse, but maybe I'm missing few things :D

Thanks guys,

I made you a little setup showing how you can achieve that :
