What's new in 3.6 SP2:

New Features and Enhancements
General UI
  • Added a list of recent referenced files found in the "File -> Reference -> Recent" sub menu. (#8212)
Rendering
  • Added a Default Color attribute on Streamed Map File texture nodes that is used when the given file path is either empty or invalid. (#5104)
Scripting
  • PyOpenColorIO is now available for Linux and MacOS. It is located in the "python" folder in Clarisse installation directory. This path is automatically added to the PYTHONPATH environment variable so it is usable out of the box. (#8180)

Bug Fixes
CNode/CRender
  • When rendering with CNode, memory and OpenImageIO statistics are now logged when using the "-rparts" option. (#7386)
General
  • On Windows, application crash now generates a backtrace as it is already the case on Linux and MacOS. (#8121)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when clearing overrides on a Reference Context, after changing its filename. (#8204)
  • Fixed a limitation introduced in 3.6 SP1 that was causing overrides to disappear after changing the filename of references. (#8207)
  • Timeline frame range is now kept when switching between UI layouts. (#7262)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when resolving shading layers. (#7998)
  • Fixed an issue that was causing all generated request keys to remove the PLE watermark to be invalid. (#8238)
  • It is now possible to specify several startup scripts in the configuration of Clarisse by separating their paths by semicolons. It is also possible to use environment variables to resolve the paths which allows to change the startup script without modifying the configuration file. By default, Clarisse is now running the builtin startup script (defined by the $CLARISSE_DEFAULT_STARTUP_SCRIPT) and any startup script that would be defined by the $CLARISSE_STARTUP_SCRIPT environment variable.   • Fixed a crash that occurred when undoing a paste command of an object during rendering. (#7946)
General UI
  • In Texture View, the HUD color box is now properly color corrected for all kind of color spaces. Previously, some color spaces were not properly supported and errors were logged. (#7911)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when resizing the 3D View and/or switching between Display Modes. (#8247)
  • Fixed text selection issues in the Global Context Selection Toolbar. (#7320)
  • In Log widget, messages at levels Debug1 to Debug5 now appear in the same green color as level Debug. (#8227)
Geometry
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when changing the filename of a scattered geometry bundle that has displacement assigned via a shading layer. (#8253)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when applying a time variance on scatterer's instances. (#8220)
  • The time offset on scatterers with only one instance is now correctly applied. (#8241)
Rendering
  • Transmittance effect of physical materials is now supported in Light Path Expressions AOV's. (#5260)
  • World Normal AOV now properly takes bump map and normal map into account. This should improve the OptiX denoiser when Normal AOVs are used. (#8235)
  • Fixed the transmittance effect over volumes. The distance used to compute the attenuation wasn't correct. (#7485)
  • Alembic properties are now always supported as long as their number of values is an integer multiple of the number of vertices. (#8114)
  • It is now possible to enable motion blur on Extract Property texture nodes. Setting this attribute will sample the property over time. (#8260)
  • OptiX denoiser now supports image overscan. (#8214)
  • Fixed an issue when changing the opacity on physical transmission and dielectric materials. Setting back a full opacity will now behave properly. (#8265)
  • Fixed a crash in OSL texture nodes, when using the faceforward function. (#8236)
Scripting
  • ix.import_geometry and ix.import_geometries functions now always return the objects they have created even if the specified paths are invalid. (#8116)

  • All SDK examples are now compiling properly. (#8271)
