Houdini Engine for Clarisse !

Houdini Engine for Clarisse !

Unread postby paq » Thu Mar 22, 2018 4:53 pm

Hello IsoTeam,

I know, it will require too much development resources, but I had to ask.
Any users of booth applications can see how demoniac  this combo could be ...

Cheers.

Hi Pascal,

Actually you are in the wrong forums. You should try SideFX, they deal with Houdini Engine integration to 3rd parties.

Hi Sam,

I think SideFX only develop and maintain Unity/Maya/Unreal engine. C4D and 3Dsmax are done by a 3rd party 'partner' ... I have no idea how those things works, and I'm afraid my voice will count for nothing for that matter.

Anyway, I was dreaming out loud :)

Hi Antti,

First you would need the SDK of Clarisse (which we don't publicly distribute), then this version of Houdini Engine was for Clarisse 2.0 if I recall correctly. So it doesn't run on 3.6 SP1. Finally you would need to get the source and compile it. I'm not even sure this is possible on Windows.

Cheers,

Ok, too bad.

Do you have any plans on making Houdini Engine for Clarisse? You obviously use Houdini a lot (based on tutorials) and of course other people as well (including me now too :D) so I would think it would be great feature to this excellent 3D package :)
Houdini Digital Assets is great feature but currently Clarisse users cannot benefit from it so Maya/Max user have advantage which is not fair :D

Antti, our policy is to let 3rd parties integrate their products to our software not the way around.
