Tooltip for texture attributes to show the current texname

Hi!

When I hover over a texture attribute, the tooltip says 'texture binding: choose texture'. That is fine but it would be very useful if the tooltip showed the currently connected texture name or even the whole pathname (if the texture is empty, then the current tooltip could show up). That way it would be very easy to check which texture is connected to a texture attribute :)

I don't think this would slow down anything as the path must be known anyway and the tooltip system is already there so this might be easy to implement but probably not by custom Python script...? :)

Any chance of getting such small but handy feature?

Thank you!

Antti

Hi,

The easiest way to see which texture is connected to another texture is this :

Material_Editor.PNG

And you can see multiple textures in one sight !

Cheers !

Yes I know that :D
But it would be nice to see in Attribute editor, which texture is connected to which texture attribute :)
I can of course cick on the arrow to jump to the texture but if I only want to know what it is, that is unnecessary.

I added your request but as we have several ways to see which texture is plugged into an attribute I'm afraid it wouldn't be developed in a near future.

Cheers !
