What's new in Clarisse iFX 4.0 SP9:

Bug Fixes
3D View
  • Fixed a bug in Auto Fit which wasn't working properly when opening a new 3D View from a selection of scene items. (#10792)
  • Fixed a regression that was preventing the use of $ prefixed variable names in SeExpr expressions. (#10814)
Image View
  • Fixed the display of bounding boxes in the Image View that could be incorrect when a Camera Perspective Advanced was viewing the scene. (#10804)
  • Downgraded an error message to warning level that was shown when an Alembic object didn't have a parent Xform, and improve the wording to make it more explicit. This particular case is not always an error. Also improved the wording of the corresponding error message for geometries (polymeshes, subd meshes, and curves) to display explicitly the geometry type. (#10856)
  • Fixed a bug in the Alembic exporter when exporting a point cloud with a single point that was causing point properties to be exported as scalar properties. (#10840)
Material Editor
  • Fixed an issue with the Tab key shortcut that stopped working after docking a floating Material Editor. (#9311)
Object Framework
  • Fixed a bug in override resolutions that were not properly updated when the reference context was moved in another context. (#10413)
  • Fixed an issue where LPE constants were not properly taking into account global illumination. (#10837)
  • Fixed a loss of energy that could appear during volume integration. (#10634)
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when using the denoiser in the 3D View. The version of OptiX has been bumped to 6.5 which might require a driver update if it's too old. (#10796)
  • Spaces are now automatically removed from Light Path expressions when they are not in labels. This prevents hard to debug errors when the users unintentionally added spaces in their expressions. (#10808)
  • Fixed an issue where the output of LPEs were too bright for volumes. (#10800)
  • Fixed a regression crash when using GuiInputDialog in Python. (#10797)
  • Fixed a bug that could occur in the transform tools, when snapping then dragging the pivot within a single mouse operation. (#10806)

SDK Changes
  • The Of library and the Material Editor (and other user interface elements) have been improved to support multiple outputs in materials and textures since it was needed for some 3rd parties renderers. Please note that this support is still experimental and doesn't affect Clarisse's native nodes. The R2C library has also been updated accordingly as well as the Redshift integration example which now exposes all Redshift textures. Please refer to R2C documentation for more information. (#10784)
  • New virtual methods have been added in R2cRenderDelegate to define the actual material to evaluate when the default material or a non-supported material is assigned to a shading group. (#10827)
