Good news, we have added support of fur interpolate/generator for scatterer time variation feature. It will be available for the next release candidate coming very soon.

Regards

Antoine

Hi Antoine,
thank you very much for enhancing the scatter tool. There is now much more control.
The hair-interpolate scattering with time offset does also work without instant crash, but there is still an issue.

-while the alembic hair guides seem to be offseted correctly, the hair interpolation does not keep exactly the shape of
the source animation. The hair seems to be more distorted and not in the right place.
I uploaded 2 projects, both use the same file but one shows the guides and the other the interpolated version.
You will see, that the scattered interpolated hair does often dissaper in the red sphere.
The guy outside the scatterer is an instance of the source file, so you will see the difference.

Maybe it has something to do with world coordinates, because to follow the hair you have to tick the worldcoordinates in the interpolation tool.

Hi tom

Indeed, your're right, kinematic information of the support geometry and guides are read at the current time, and not at the offset time, so it results to incoherent results if the support have animated transform.
Sorry about missing that, we're adding it for the next release...

Thanks for your feedback

Hi Antointe,

great, thank you! It's gonna to be real magic with hair scattering, very cool!

Hi Antoine,
with RC3, hair scattering with offset works like a charm! cool!

It's not a bug I guess, but more a feature request.
I have character and I pinned with pointUVSampler a prop to the character.

If I put the character and the prop (i.e flag) in a combiner, scatter without offset it's working.
If I offset the scatterer, the prob won't track correctly, because it takes the position of the object I can select for input geometry in the pointUVSampler.

Would it be possible, that the pointUVSampler grabs the point per instance?
With such an option, we would be able to scatter and random props for a crowd.
