Crash when trying to access Script Editor/Shelf Toolbar

Unread postby jhoey » Wed Apr 09, 2014 9:00 am

Every time, without fail - general unrecoverable error.

The same goes when accessing the Scripting and TD Workshop layout presets - presumably because they both employ the Script Editor in their layouts.

This is on Win7 x64, Clarisse 1.6 SP5 PLE

Hi,

I think - with this and the other thread about shelf not working - that your python installation is not set up properly with clarisse.

Can you make sure that you have python2.7 installed (for example in "c:\python27")

and that your clarisse.env file located in
C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Isotropix\Clarisse

contains the following: (depending on where your python install is of course)
PYTHONHOME=c:\Python27
PYTHONPATH=C:\Python27\Lib;C:\Python27\DLLs;C:\Python27\Lib\lib-tk

Thanks,
Julien

I do have Python 2.7 installed in the default directory (it long pre-exists the Clarisse install).

When I checked clarisse.env, the two paths were empty. I filled them out as you had them below, saved the file, and re-opened Clarisse. It still crashes when trying to open the Script Editor.

Perhaps I need to update my python install? It's about a year old.

Hi,
can you make sure that your python is 64 bits ?
You can check this in the python console:
Click on Start Menu -> Type "python" -> Click on "Python (Command Line)
The following window should appear and specify if you are in 32 or 64 bits:

You nailed it. It's 32 bit. I'll reinstall it soon, I'm sure that will fix everything.

Thanks very much!

I installed the x64 version of Python this evening, and all works properly now. Thanks!
