Windowbox OSL works fine in version 5 but not in 5.5/Angie just renders black or crashes if you hook up the nodes wrong

It is just a polygrid with a standard shader and OSL texture file pointing to windowbox.osl The Windowbox OSL points to an EXR image

Works great in Clarisse 5 but not in 5.5 Angie release 2
In Angie, there are lots of ways to add the OSL and I have tried all the combinations I can think of.
Adding an OSL scripted material directly renders invisible or zero opacity
Adding via Standard Material renders black
Adding via Autodesk /Principled/and a few others with either render black or zero opacity.
I have tried a few different versions of the Windowbox.osl too
Obviously, I can add the EXR image directly to a UV mapped cube, but that misses some functionality or complicates the scene requiring sub objects (midground planes) to be loaded as separate obj files.
