To create a quick preview of a scene

Unread postby Alkay » Wed Oct 05, 2022 8:53 am

Hi
I need to create a quick preview of a 3DScene and save it as a jpg image to disk. The best way would be using the winget "save 3D view". I can't find any description or example how to use python to create the preview and save to disk. Is it possible to control this function programmatically? Alternatively, is there any other quick way to create this view. Thank you

Hi there,

No you can't control the playblast of the 3D View programmatically.

However, why not rendering the image instead using a special raytracer? You could set it to Utility (or Ambient Occlusion) and use Simple Shading by changing the integrator: https://clarissewiki.com/5.0/other-integrators.html

Let me know if I make sense,

Hi there
Thank you for your reply. I'll do it according to your advice. I will create one RendererRaytracer for the previews in which I will enable the integrator.integrationModel "Utility" on the integrator.integrationModel attribute and set simle_shading in the utility.output. For this RendererRaytracer I will create an image which I will then save as an image to disk. Thank you again
