Hi Demian. I would like to create custom resolutions presets and include them through the resolution preset config file option in the Rendering Preferences. I don't know how that config file should be formatted and what attributes can/need to be defined. Thanks!

Here is an example :

Code: Select all
TV_Resolutions {
   HD_720p {
      display_name "HD (720p)"
       width 1280
      height 720
      aspect_ratio 1.0
   }
   FHD_1080p {
      display_name "1080p (1920x1080)"
       width 1920
      height 1080
      aspect_ratio 1.0
   }
}
Computer_resolutions {
   VGA {
       width 640
      height 480
      aspect_ratio 1.0
   }
   SVGA {
       width 800
      height 600
      aspect_ratio 1.0
   }
}

Cheers ;)

Can margins (overscan) be set this way too?

Also, is it possible to select a resolution preset with a group name instead of the display name?
From your example, I know I can do:

python code

ix.cmds.SetValues(["project://scene/image.resolution_preset"], ["TV Resolutions|HD (720p)"])
# Is there a way to do something like this?
ix.cmds.SetValues(["project://scene/image.resolution_preset"], ["TV Resolutions|HD_720p"])

Thank you.

Hi,

Just pinging this again. The main question is, can I set the margin attributes in a resolution preset config?

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

It's not possible to set the margin values in the resolution preset config file.

However, you can set the margin mode to "Ratio" and set a margin percentage. Or if you want very specific margin in pixel you can use Expressions to drive margin values depending on the selected preset (with conditional expression).

Cheers ;)
