Landscape Study 001

Unread postby lafrance » Wed Jul 10, 2019 6:00 am

First post. I've been working on this on and off for longer than I care to admit. Though it can always be better, I'm calling it done.
Learned a lot. Terrain done mostly in World Machine, with some maps generated in Gaea. Evermotion vegetation (wrote a python script to import and assemble.) Crits and Comments very welcome, thanks!

Thanks Demian, but, you bring up a good point: is there a better way of embedding? I notice other's posts open the hi-res more easily. I just used the standard path surrounded by [img] blocks...

Yes. You have to upload it as an attachement to your post

thanks much, Sam. will do. Also, looked at this on another monitor and it's super dark, inky. Time for a monitor calibration. will post an update once that's done. I'll get the hang of this yet :)

thanks Kramon. it's both, kindof: theres a big volume box for the whole scene, a separate volume in the water. Then, a blooming effect from sky done in post.

Looks great! The raking light over the hill and mountains is great. The water treatment along the edge is very subtle as well.
