Unread postby support_team » Mon Jan 20, 2014 6:36 pm

Dear Clarisse users,

We're releasing this new build of Clarisse iFX 1.6 SP4. As usual, you can get this new build from your download area.

What's new since build 1.6 SP3

  • Fixed various bugs in the shading layer that could happen when moving rules.
  • Fixed a bug that was sometimes crashing Clarisse when deleting a geometry with a MDDPlayer deformer.
  • Fixed OSX path bug with Licman.

User Interface
  • Fixed a selection bug in the 3D view.
  • In the Scale tool, the scaling speed when editing all axes at once has been improved.
  • In the Material Editor, fixed some bugs that could be occuring when double-clicking in the Node tree (right panel).
  • In the Browser, fixed a bug that was sometimes hidding the left panel when resizing the vertical separator on Linux.
  • Fixed a random crash in the 3D View that could happen when changing its displayed content too fast.
  • File Browser is now displaying file size, creation and modification date.

Image View
  • Fixed the mouse over highlight that was still being displayed after the mouse left the Image View.
  • Fixed the display of the Pick-Fit tool.
  • Color picking now picks the color on the displayed image thus it is now possible to pick colors from history images and AOVs.
  • Zooming images in and out is now much faster.
  • Reverted image zoom when dragging the mouse vertically.
  • Fixed several bugs involving history and render progress.

  • Fixed a bug that was preventng imported meshes from Alembic archives to get deformed.
  • Fixed a bug with motion blur that was enabled where it should not.

  • Added diffuse_direct_illumination and diffuse_indirect_illumination AOVs to separate direct and indirect lighting. Note that the "diffuse_illumination" AOV is the addition of "diffuse_direct_illumination" and "diffuse_indirect_illumination".

  • TEX file extension has been added to the list of supported image files formats.
  • In Gradient texture, the Slope Mode attribute has been enhanced with 2 new modes "Slope (Object)" and "Slope (World)" in addition to "Slope" renamed "Slope (Shading)". In "Slope (Object)" mode, the gradient is controlled by the orientation of the fragment in object space. In "Slope (World)" mode, the gradient is controlled by the orientation of the fragment in world space.
  • In Distance To Object texture, added "Output" attribute in order to control how the distance is mapped to the RGBA texture output. "Euclidian" mode copy the euclidian distance between the fragment and the targetted object to each R, G, B, A component. "Components" mode maps the X distance to R, the Y distance to G and the Z distance to B. Alpha component is set to 1.0.
  • In Streamed Map File, tiling now handles upper and lower cases in UVTILE mode; the offset is now properly applied in [0-1] range; repeat mode is now properly when tiling images.

  • F-curve API is now exposed to Python
  • New methods have been added to shading layers API for managing children.

Just wondering, are these fixes being applied to Hyperion as well, or do they live their separate lives to some extent?

Hi Arvid,

From now on, since Hyperion R1 release, Clarisse 1.X and Clarisse Hyperion live their separate lives. But many bug fixes get reported to both versions when possible.

When we will release Hyperion R2, you can expect to find some of these fixes in the release notes.
