physical sky

Unread postby Eckhart_Cy » Wed May 16, 2018 11:33 am

Hi all,

Being new to Clarisse, I've been checking out the tutorial on how to create a physical sky.
I've got it very close to the result in the example file, but I'd like to get it exactly like it.
Normally I don't tend to just copy the values, but in this case I want to know why my result is different.
Especially since I like the result in the example file more than what I got.

I've been comparing as much settings/parameters/variables as I can think of having an influence, but I can't seem to find it.
Unfortunately, the tutorial and example file don't start from scratch, so I'm guessing the instructor changed settings somewhere that aren't shown.

If anybody would be willing to check it out, I'd very much appreciate it!

Greets,
Eckhart

Hi,

The attributes set during the tutorial may be slightly different than those used for the render. Here is the scene used for the render you see at the end of the tutorial. You'll be able to compare it with your project.

Thanks for the quick response.
I have been comparing the files, but I can't find the difference.
I've also checked the scene you uploaded and that seems to be more like what I have.
But I would still like to find what the difference is between that other example file and my file, which are in the .zip I uploaded.

It looks like the volume in the example file is catching more light or something, I'm not sure.
As far as I've checked, all the attributes are exactly the same. So I have the feeling I'm overlooking something.

I realize it's a lot of searching work to find it, so I understand if people don't want to check it out.
I'll just keep looking myself in the meantime.

Perhaps it's the forward scattering in the volume material... At least you have now the scene with the result you want to use (the scene I uploaded)

Cheers ;)
