How to import an asset with shaders and textures ? Please

Unread postby Farnac » Sat Nov 21, 2020 10:15 am

Hi,

I tried to import a textured asset bought online in Clarisse but sadly I'm not able to use the textures/shaders furnished with the asset.

I have an fbx file with textures. A friend provided me an .obj and .abc of the asset using Houdini to convert it but I'm interested to know how to use textures and shaders provided with the asset in Clarisse easily ?

If someone have an idea please :)

Many thanks !

Hi
There is no standard yet to provide such a feature, textures and shader can be brought in by using an obj however it's quite rudimentary.
Usually you have to bring in textures yourself and create shader and textures assignments like in any other package as well.

There is also the clarisse survival kit which provides some features to work with assets from megascan etc

Lastly the new materialX standard would provide a more robust way to transfer mesh and shader to arbitrary software that supports it.

Cheers

Hi,

thanks for your answer :)

I'll try with obj and recreate shaders.

Cheers
