Point Cloud on single Shading Group

Hi all,

I'm doing some testing in PLE to see if we might change our workflow to include Clarisse. Now I have this quite large tree model, that has 3 shading groups:
1 the trunk/branches
2 some polygons to clone apical twigs
3 some polygons to clone lateral twigs

I'd like to be able to generate a pointcloud that scatters a point in the center of the polygons of shading group 2 and 3, but not on group 1. When I just use random scattering with a point number, it's fine to turn of shading group 1, but when I set the distribution to Primitive Center, it will add points at the trunk shading group polygons as well.
How can I fix this? The thing doesn't have great UVs I think, so I think a decimate texture wouldn't work.
Also, can this be a 'bug'?

Hi there,

No, it's not a bug. Point cloud generation ignores shading group visibility. You could always submit a feature request.

Ah ok, it doesn't ignore shading group visibility in random or blue noise mode however, that's kind of a weird behavior.
Is there a way to 'delete' part of a mesh by shading group, or ignore it, or create a texture that will make 2 of the shading groups white and the other black or anything like that?

I actually managed to reproduced your issue. I filled a bug!

Yeah sorry, I tested on the wrong version of Clarisse. I probably have 50 different versions installed on my machine LOL.
