Clarisse 5 silent install flags?

Unread postby software » Thu Jul 22, 2021 11:52 pm

Hello,
What silent install flags should be used for installing Clarisse 5 via command line?

We used /S /qn for Clarisse 4 versions but this is hanging indefinitely now.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I think it's because of the Python 3.7 installer. If Python 3.7 is not installed in the system, Clarisse installer will launch Python's installer.
  • Run Clarisse installer with /S without Python installed: Clarisse is installed silently, but Python's installer UI is blocking, waiting for user action.
  • Run Clarisse installer with /S with Python installed: Clarisse is installed silently. Python is not blocking anymore because it's not even launched.

Note that /qn is not compatible with Clarisse installer. It's not an MSI installer.
And Python installer, which I think is indeed an MSI installer, seems to ignore it.

Currently, there are no command-line options to select the Clarisse components to install. But we could implement it.
As of 5.0, these components are:
- Clarisse & CNode
- Licensing
- Python 3.7: optional, enabled by default
- Python 2.7: optional, disabled by default

A workaround is to install Python 3.7 manually before installing Clarisse 5.0.
Make sure to enable the option "Add Python to PATH" and possibly "Install for all users".

Do you deploy Clarisse silently frequently?
