Hey guys,

Just out of curiosity, a little poll to hear what you guys prefer in Clarisse 3.5. This is pretty hard to pick 3 favorite ones!

Indeed, definitely I would have added the Scene Assembly Improvements :) (my selection: particle paint, collision detection, lookdev)
Surprisingly nobody has voted for that yet :o Well, not many voters so far ;)
The new group features are great, maybe people just haven't noticed it yet :D

Excellent work once again!

We're loving the new AiStandard shaders, and Blackbody for volumes! No more messing around with ramps :D Thanks guys!. Keep up the good work!

Btw. Where can I find the new 'dot' item in the material editor. I cant seem to find it :D

I was wondering the same and I could not find it in menu but when you double click on a node connection, it creates Dot :)
It is only for display but can be useful with complex node maps which are now less needed thanks to excellent PBR Standard material

With the paint tools I think this is the beginning of the 3D Photoshop era for matte painters, set dressers etc.

There is the improved ray-tracing precision which I guess I also want to poll (among the 3: paint, LPE, UI) but first I'm doing some trials, just a small setup of Sun-Earth-Moon system @ eclipse, with real world sales ;)

EclipseBokeh_Palmtree_ClarissePrecision.jpg

Don't worry Sam, it works well :D

This is a shadow of palmtrees (just Sun, no sky and post), in the penumbra area of the Earth the criss-crossing of the leaves makes C shaped spots, as in real! Every geo are at real scale. Sun is a sphere light 150 million kms away, 696 thousand km radius (limit in Clarisse is 100k, but scaled up by 6,975 :) ) blackbody texture is the color input (slightl below 6000K) and with the "artistic manipulation" all neutral (energy compr. 0%). With physical mode, doesn't need too much exposure tweaking, so this seems also physically plausible, because at these scales it is easy to shift orders of magnitude.

Thanks again, making sci-vis with raytracing at planetary scales possible.

I'm working on a tutorial about lighting, concerning on natural phenomena with scientific background and real world experiments, for the basics it will be nice to follow the light from it's origin, and see the depndencies :)
