Creating a mask for a layer

Unread postby igbw712 » Sat Jun 17, 2017 8:38 pm

Here's my situation I have my entire scene finished and laid out and rendered but I want to add some vdb clouds to it on a separate layer. The way the first layer is setup in is everything is set to camera projection of the render to get rid of sub-sample noise. What I'd like to do is use the previous layer elements as a mask for the cloud layer. How would I best accomplish that?

Hi,

Create a combiner, add all the objects of the previous layer and make the combiner a matte object with alpha 0%.

Cheers ;)
