Target area instead of point?

Unread postby atnreg » Sat Jan 20, 2018 1:36 pm

Let's say we have 4 lights in the corners of an area and they have target constraint which point to a large cylinder positioned in the center of that area. Normally, the lights would aim at the very center (or pivot) of the cylinder, making symmetric pattern.

But what if I want to make target to work so that the lights aim at the point on the cylinder nearest to that light?
Or mayve even better, randomly to a point inside the cylinder?
That way it would be nice to make light rigs that would lighten up specific areas instead of points :)

But is that possible?

Thank you!
