I just hope they won't make GPU accelerated viewport Nvidia exclusive feature. If some of the devs are reading this - please, please, please, make it work on any GPU. :) cheers

Really, I feel that gpu would decelerate the viewport for most of our production scenes, v.s. the current viewport...maybe it can just lend a hand until it reaches its limits and craps out. For example, making the refresh rate smoother, to the limit of what the gpu can handle of whats in the scenes, e.g. billions of polys, then the native can take over when needed.

Nvidia always with the same thing. I prefer much more opencl solutions, like AMD's.

Same here mate, I always stick with AMD and open solutions but you can't always have what you want. Funny thing is - Nvidia is so proud to have the fastest GPU on earth (tesla). That would not be possible if it wasn't for AMD - they developed HBM memory and made it available for everyone. Then there's Nvidia - anything they make works only on their hardware. The irony.

@ambassador1

The way they described it - GPU accelerated viewport is not going to replace current viewport, it's going to accelerate it. So, for example, if you have some big ass scene and your GPU craps out it's going to fall back to CPU viewport, just like it we have now. There won't be any delay or lags. It looked awesome and I highly believe it will make Clarisse a lot smoother. Just please - make it work on any GPU :D

I think that's the constant issue with gpu vs cpu, not really anything to do with isotropix, but a lot of the new gpu techniques always want you to have the latest and greatest cards from the past year or two. Most places don't replace machines that often, and if you have a studio of 10+ people, replacing cards every two years for the newest gets pricey. I just know things will work if I load them in Clarisse, anything else, like substance, modo, its always a question of, can it handle what I am loading, haha.

Hmm...how this actually can be watched in full? All I see is the 'intro' screen and about half way there is about 2-3 min video, then the 'intro' screen is back :o I would not think it was THAT top secret...?

And will there be videos of those other topics? The FMX page is still on this site (https://www.isotropix.com/fmx2018) but it is still inviting to meet you there which is a bit late now :) Now it would be nice to change it to 'archive' having each presentation as video :)
