GeometryAbcMesh '<ItemName>' is empty.

Hi,

I keep getting this message whenever I do anything with a few parts of an ABC reference: " GeometryAbcMesh '<ItemName>' is empty. " I believe though that the empty object is actually a 'locator' that is holding the position for the placement of another mesh. I'm coming to this conclusion because if I disable these "empty" items, then other meshes disappear too. Is there any way that I can fix this, or at least disable these warnings? It seems like these non-mesh items are actually necessary.

The Abc is coming from C4D, FWIW

hey Devin898, I'll take a look at emulating your setup and seeing if I can duplicate your issue as I haven't seen this personally . as always if you could share the ABC that will make it easier

It seems that C4D ABC export is exporting locators the wrong way. It looks like they are exported as polymesh with no data where they should be exported as xforms.

Yes I have an ABC from Maya with Locators holding object position and I'm having no issues at the moment. Can you bake the animation into the objects you actually want to render. I've never used C#D before.

you should be able to attach it by going into the full editor, which should be just below this box as I type
