how to make a holdout that also effects Z?

Am I missing something is it not possible to holdout geo in the Zdepth as well?

Hi,

No, it's not possible. Matte objects with alpha set to 0% change the Alpha value of RGBA only. But you can do that in compositing by multiplying your alpha channel with the depth AOV.

The Alpha channel has Anti Aliasing! So this will not work out of the box. You either have to erode it, or setup a separate Alpha channel which has only full pixel values. It's now added as a feature request. But honestly this is to me a major bug if you want todo DOF in post.
