Missing default AOV's

Hi there,

I'm trying to use the standard build but I don't see an AOV for world position or diffuse reflectance (diffuse without light contribution). These are quite essential, so I was wondering if I'm missing something or if there is a way I can get them? (other than creating a utility node and plugging that into every shader in the project) Thanks

You are right, there's no world position so you need to add an utility node for that (little spoiler, you won't have to plug it to all shaders pretty soon)

As for diffuse reflectance it is called pbr_diffuse_reflection_k (pbr_diffuse_reflection_i is for the light so the k * i is the final diffuse)

Regarding the necessity to plug the aovstore to all shaders to get complete position data, has there been any development since this vague announcement?

Hi,

4.0 is out. You can now plug your AOV stores directly at the layer level ;)

Oh, I see, thanks. I didn't found it there originally because I was filtering for aov, wasn't expecting it to be spelled out.
