IBL Lights visibility

Unread postby tom_tm » Mon Aug 27, 2018 1:52 am

Hi,

if I load an IBL Light I don't find a setting to actually make the IBL image visible either in the 3D view
nor in the render view. In Legacy intergration, the IBL was visible at least in the 3d view.
As a workaround I parent the parametric sphere to the IBL

Did I miss something?

Nope, you need to apply a matte shader with IBL texture to a big sphere, then make sure that the sphere is invisible to the rays and you're good to go

Hi,

PBR lights will be visible in the 4.0 version. For now, you have to deal a big sphere. As it's an implicit projection (parametric) don't forget to reverse the scale X transform attribute of your sphere to match your ibl.

Cheers !

Hi dboude,
that would be much more comfortable. From what I have read, in the hopefully very soon :-) release of 4.0 will be many light enhancement
which accelerate things even more... great!

Thanks
Tom
