Material Editor: you click away, it's gone if not connected

Unread postby lookdev » Mon Sep 16, 2019 6:40 pm

I was slowly building a material using several texture maps, mixing them with noises and stuff, happy with the progress, but I needed to change the uv scale of one of the imported texture maps. I click on the texture map change the uv scale, back to the material editor, and .... It's all gone, only one node was left, the one that's connected to the material.
Is there a way I can keep my work, as in not loose it while I'm building the node network and it's still not connected to the material. Say you want to have a complex set up for the diffuse color, you only connect it when you have blended enough stuff.
Is it correct: not connected means lost?
In the attached picture you see one node left, the only one that was connected, the rest of the work is lost.

Hey
Good news! Dacia sandero. oh no wait.

Your nodes are not lost! The way Clarisse node editor works is that it shows stuff that is selected... if u will select material.. it will disply all nodes that are connected to that material... if u want to display nodes that are for example not connected to your master node that u selected.. u simply need to open your browser/explorer window and simply select with ctrl or shift other nodes that u want to display

Look here i choosen my material and it shows all nodes that made this material:

Now if i want to see all other nodes i simply select them.. and.. look:

if u want to have all stuff displayed all the time no matter what u selected... simply select all nodes.. and after that hit this button:
