No motion blur on curves from alembic sequence

Unread postby ashachar » Tue Oct 08, 2019 12:41 am

Hey,

We mostly cache out curves to alembic archive (single file) and motion blur is computed well internally in Clarisse.
Sometimes we export multiple single frame alembic files and although motion blur works with standard meshes, it doesn't with curves. We export a velocity as we do for all other meshes but "read velocity" doesn't work on these separate file sequence.

I'm attaching a clarisse scene with the necessary alembics. You can swap between the geos and see that you get motion blur on the single file but not on the sequence (3 frames).

We got this to work within Prman and Arnold.
Is that a feature that is yet to be supported or a bug?

Thanks,
Amir
