Yeti got a Clarisse plugin to read in the caches it is using. This way we get a very detailed setup, same we would render native in yeti/Maya.

Do other 3D software have plugins like this?Blender2.8 made a major update this time, more and more people are using it, I am also using it, but importing and exporting abc is very troublesome. I hope there is such a plugin, it will be very convenient!

What do you think?

I hope you can understand my bad English. O(∩_∩)O

Hi,

I don't get the point. What kind of plug-in are you talking about here? Alembic Import/Export for Blender?

Cheers

Yup. And this plugin is developed by Yeti. Like SpeedTree is developing its Clarisse plugin. In short: it's not our job to develop plugins for other tools used in the industry. Could you imagine the amount of work that would require ? Everyday people would ask us to integrate this and that software that they use in their pipeline; we would spend our entire life working on integration plugins, and not actually developing Clarisse.

This is what Alembic (and now USD) are for: they are basically file formats (and a bit more in the case of USD) that provide a common format to exchange data between DCCs, precisely to avoid having to write plugins for every single software used in the 3D industry.

So. If you want native support for .blend files, your best bet is to ask Blender devs directly :)
