Hi! Image View is completely black?

Unread postby svetlapopova » Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:20 pm

Hello,

I am completely new to Clarisse - awesome software by the way! - and am already having newbie issues (sorry!):

1)
upon trying to render, the Image View and render output are completely black.
when i hover the mouse over Image View, i can see the outline of my object... please help?

2)
How do I assign .jpeg images to objects, instead of materials? Just like I would assign any other material map in the material editor?

Thx!

Hi,

1) Hard to say without your project. Did you watch some tutorials like "Getting started" ?

2) You can't assign textures to objects. But you can assign textures to materials and then materials to objects.

Hi,

As Démian said, it is not possible to directly attach textures to objects.. but there is an advanced feature very close to this: shading variables. This way, you can for example attach the same material for all your objects, and vary the texture paths on a per object level. Here is a tutorial showing how to use the feature:

Many Thanks! The first issue is still not solved - the image view shows the object through a camera, but is black without a camera, so perhaps I am inside an object.. but don't know how to localize my viewpoint and change it...

You definitively have to watch the getting started tutorial to get the basics.
