Transmission Exit Color Usage

Unread postby tobinjones » Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:44 pm

I am trying to reduce ray limits by using an image as my transmission exit color. I have tried to map it several ways without being able to understand the proper texture space.

Could anyone explain how the image is mapped, and ideally if an image could be used in camera space (which would be useful in switching using proxy images to reduce render times).

Thanks,
Tobin

Hi,

The texture is mapped with the chosen projection on the object where the ray stops. So if you want to mimic an environment just use the environment projection ;)

Cheers !
