Question about painting particles on transformed geo

Unread postby kai_wheatley » Sat Apr 04, 2020 7:11 pm

Howdy,

So, I want to paint out some particles in a certain area of a geometry, but the particles are being painted on the original position of the geo, rather than the transformed location.

I know when making a point cloud, you can parent the geo in question and apply transform, thus the point cloud is in the correct location, but I don't see any option to parent/copy transform in the particle paint options.

Am I blind and missing something?

Thanks for any help!

Have you got a container in your scene?

Hi,

Points containers are not dependant of any geometry (like the point cloud). The points should stop on the geometry you paint on. Whatever the transform the object has.

Check if you don't set a geometry group in the particle paint tool, otherwise it's a bug.
