Hi we are running an Intel i9-9900k with 128GB of RAM and we would like to know which graphics card you recommend for doing complex Clarisse Environments running plug-ins? The RTX 2080Ti which has 11GB of GDDR6 RAM, the Quadro RTX 6000 with 24GB of GDDR6 RAM, or the Quadro RTX 8000 with 48GB of GDDR6 RAM? What are your recommendations on all 3 cards? Do you have a list of authorized plug-ins and templates for Clarisse? Does Clarisse work on both Mac and PC? We appreciate your help!

Hi,

Clarisse is CPU based. So you will able to do complex stuff with any graphic cards
Note that we implemented the Optix denoiser that runs exclusively on NVidia GPU.

You should really consider using a beefier CPU such as an AMD threadripper 3.

Can the NVIDIA RTX2080Ti GDDR6 11GB be used in Clarisse to run the Optix Denoiser? Is it a supported card? Thanks!

Any RTX or even GTX1650 will work with Optix denoiser. GPU memory shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you we're going to be building a new system will we notice a significant difference in performance and quality using the AMD Threadripper 16-core versus the 32-core?

Of course, it will get almost twice as fast, go for the 64 core one to get the best performance.

I would skip the costly video card, spend that on the beefiest CPU you can budget, and put $100+ aside for neat denoise and skip Optix Denoise all together, its not that impressive compared to neat denoise. Thats not a rip on Clarisse, its an over hyped nvidia denoise feature they implemented. Its okay, but there are way better denoise solutions.

I wouldn't say it's hyped. It does what it does: give a pretty good denoised image in realtime. Is it good enough for production standard? No. Is it good enough for lighting preview/lookdev? Yes.

Yes, its okay for look dev, but again, if you want a faster cleaner production image, along with faster speeds in clarisse in general, get the best CPU you can. Personally I prefer a little noise while setting up shots vs a render updating in watercolor filter mode.
