I think I know what you are speaking about, but reference images of what you are trying to mimic are helpful.

Hi,

Volume displacement is not possible in Clarisse. You can use a "Volume Surface" to fill a volume with a mesh shape but that's all.

Unfortunately it is not possible to displace the Volume .. a request was madee a while ago https://www.isotropix.com/user/feature/40

I guess you spoke of the Lee Griggs stuff for Arnold he did a few years ago, when Arnold got the new Volume Mesh type

It is possible to map a change of density however.
