Different material for each SIDE (e.g. leaves)

Unread postby Karen_Jonhson » Tue Jul 14, 2020 2:43 pm

in Redshift there is the RS Ray Switch that allows having a front material and a back material for the same (leaf) geometry.
In Clarisse, I see there is [sidedness: double sided] but that uses the same material.
Is there a way to assign a different material to the other side of the geometry?

There's also another way, but it requires more nodes to setup. I don't recommend this method, but it might be nice to know.

Via the Utility node you can get more data than the RS State node provides. One of them is called "Is Facing?"

I shared both methods in the attached project file.
