Point UV sampling and slope

Unread postby bvz2000 » Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:07 am

Trying to use a gradient with world slope to control the sampling on a point cloud does not seem to work. Most likely because the gradient does not seem to apply itself in UV space (which makes sense).

Is there a way to use a gradient with slope (without baking) to control the sampling texture of a point cloud?

Which brings me to: Possible feature request: project UV coordinate system

It would be helpful if we could project a UV coordinate system onto geometry.

Does this sound feasible?

Hi,

It works for me on a simple sphere with point cloud and point UV sampler. Could you share your setup ?

Cheers

I don't know what I was doing wrong. When I tried to put together a sample of it not working, it suddenly worked.

Thanks anyway!
