changing frame often causes crashes

After working with 3 different projects with Clarisse, I find that I often get crashes when I change frame number in my shots. It is not always, but it is frequent.
Is anybody else seeing this?
I probably could make a file that would be fairly reproducible, but wanted to ask the group first.
