Animation abc particle id problem

Unread postby flansrjf » Wed Sep 16, 2020 5:55 am

I imported Houdini's abc particles. It contains the animation data of the zoom attribute. How can I use the id in clarisse?
I tried bake particles, but all the attribute animations are gone

Hi
Baking will simply "freeze" the data.
You need to use the extract property node to access any arbitrary data and then use that data accordingly.

Of course you need to use extract. But there is no id data in the particles. Is it not feasible to set the id in clarisse?

Hi,

There is always particle ID data even if you deleted the id attribute in Houdini. Here is how to see it. You can display the property editor and select the point cloud. To go futher you can select the property paint tool display its options. Set the name to ".pointIds" and set the display to "Number" in order to see the particle Ids.
