Does Python 3.8 not work with Clarisse?

Unread postby griessen » Mon Sep 21, 2020 5:00 pm

Your instructions are using Python 2.7, and regardless of carefully following them I still get the "ScriptingPython" not found. My version of Python is 3.8
Do I need to install the older version?

Clarisse and Python are both installed on the G drive and this is the contents of my clarisse.env file:

PYTHONHOME=G:\Python38-32
PYTHONPATH=G:\Python38-32\Lib
IX_SHELF_CONFIG_FILE=$CLARISSE_BIN_DIR\shelves\shelf.cfg
IX_MENU_CONFIG_FILE=$CLARISSE_BIN_DIR\python\menus\init_menus.py

Hi and welcome,

All current Clarisse versions (3.6, 4.0, BUiLDER) require Python 2.7.x.
Python 3.7.x will be supported in the next major release of Clarisse (not yet released).
Python 3.8 will not be supported yet (VFX Platform 2020 requires Python 3.7).

After installing Python 2.7 64-bit, make sure that Python's install path is in the system's PATH variable.

Cheers,

Ahhh. Thanks! I could not figure out what was going on! I'll install 2.7 and try again!

Installing 2.7 fixed it. Thank you!
