Trying to debug "free(): invalid pointer" error

Unread postby bvz » Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:08 pm

I have a heavy scene that needs to be rendered asap. I don't have a lot of time to debug it so I am going to just post here and see if anyone has any ideas where I can start narrowing down the issue:

Every time I open the scene or switch frames I get about 5 minutes of this error message:

Code: Select all
free(): invalid pointer

It is repeated over and over for several minutes.

What is that referring to? Is it bad geo? bad textures? Something else?

I can start turning things off till I find it, but if I could narrow it down a bit that would speed up the debugging process.

Thanks.

Thanks Sam.

Definitely not a memory issue. Some geo or maps is causing it but I don't have time to dig it out and will just live with the 5 min per frame hit.

I'll try to get it at some point in the future.

Sorry about that. That message is not coming from Clarisse directly. It's a malloc/free message that comes from the runtime libraries. It can really be anything a 3rd party library or even a bug in Clarisse.
