turning particles into a mesh ?

Unread postby kirkr22 » Thu Mar 18, 2021 1:31 pm

Is it possible somehow in clarisse fx? Like scattering particles/points on surface based on some texture image input and then turning them into vertexes of a new polygonal mesh? A mesh tessellation based on a texture ?

So I could draw a road in some temporary terrain texture and Clarisse would make a tesselation based on this?

Hello,

No that's not possible. There are workarounds to displace a mesh based on a point cloud texture or the "shrink wrap" trick using occlusion mentioned in the forum.
