Viewport bug

Unread postby Vaxatron » Sat Mar 11, 2023 4:15 am

Can someone please help me with this viewport bug. I can't come any closer to my objects in the scene. It's like I hit the invisible wall.
I am using only Alt and mouse to navigate.

Hello,

This has already been replied on Discord.
As it was already said, almost any 3D application will stop the zoom of a camera as you reach the focal point which usually is the point you rotate around. You can not go beyond that point unless the point itself is reset on another area. To do that, just select the object you want to focus on and press F which resets the focal stopping point to the center of the object.
Over time, by just moving around the 3D view without EVER hitting F to cleanly reset it, it can feel like the dolly and zoom is unresponsive.
You should be using dolly and zoom to adjust the view in minor ways, and F to roughly set the view in major.

Cheers!

Thank you very much for explaining that. I didn't know this has been already answered on Discord. Yeah I am not used to anything holding
camera blocked after a certain position so I wasn't sure what is going on. My fix was to make everything 0.01 in size so then scene became tiny and it was easy to move camera around:)
