Alembic attributes from Storm

Unread postby Asticles » Thu Apr 08, 2021 9:18 am

Hi all,

I've been struggling with this issue for several days, and after asking in discord without success, I post here my issue.
I'm using Storm from Effective TDs, and I export an alembic point cloud cache and stitched it to import it in clarisse as reference.

Then I scatter over all the points an sphere with its material.

On that material, I use an extract_property node to read the .v attribute (velocities) of the particles and connect it to the shader color (with some maths between).

But it seems that clarisse is not recognising any of the attributes I have tried, nor Cd or .pointids.

I have checked that the alembic file has the info importing it another time in storm. Since I can read correctly also the attributes in other software (guerrilla), I'm very lost of what to do now.

Can you help me?

Here is the link to an unstitched frame:

Thanks!

Hi,

I imported your abc into Clarisse and I was able to grab the velocity information. I think that you are missing the instance color after your extract property.
Here I generated a scatterer , plugged your point cloud into support and a sphere into geometry.

Cheers.

Make sure to check our tutorials on instance color.
